lyrics

As you gaze into the abyss
Can you feel it stare back into you
Hearing but failing to listen
Just as you always do

With the weight of the world rested on our shoulders
We have grown weak and our bones have grown frail
Can you look in the eye of the angel inside and tell him you have failed
You let the demons of the darkest corners of your soul
Take complete tyrannical control
Stand up tall to be broken down like the disease you are
Witness the resurrection of regret from behind your wall

You can taste the foul stench
A decrepit mess
A shameful pitiful life spent
With nothing left to show for it
But an empty heart and an unloving soul
Victimized lives led by shallow lies
Can you see the sun rise
From behind the walls you've built around you
All once good has been denied
Leaving those outside to live a happier life without you

Never shall this skin feel the warmth of the sun again
Nor the chilled breeze of winter
Isolated and hollow
I wash my hands of the burden
And rid my curse

This world is my casket
This life is my imprisonment
From cradle to the grave
Till death do thee away
Nothing more than a slave

As you gaze into the abyss
Can you feel it stare back into you
Hearing but failing to listen
Just as you always do
Living in fear and feeding the lie
Deny to calm your conscience
Deny to purify

Never shall this skin feel the warmth of the sun again
Nor the chilled breeze of winter isolated and hollow
I wash my hands of the burden
And rid my curse

Be wary of those who surround you
They feed off your pain
And will only exist to bury you
So they can forget you
Sacrifice for the maggots is all the world sees fit for you
And how dare you expect any different
In this world we fight for our own interest
Maintaining selflessness is self destructive
We by nature are blind to consequence
Barely maintaining consciousness
In this monotonous metropolis
We can only learn in subsequence
The provenance of somnolence
Just leave me in my tomb of solemn solace

This world is my casket
This life is my imprisonment
From cradle to the grave
Till death do thee away
Nothing more than a slave
